Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

AI Shopping Copilot collects minimal personal information. We do not collect:

• Your browsing history or the websites you visit
• Your location, device ID, or IP address
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

We do collect the following, only if you purchase a Pro subscription:

• Your email address, received from Stripe after checkout, used to activate and validate your licence key

We never receive or store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe.

2. How the extension works

When you open the extension on a supported shopping page, it reads the visible text content of that product page — the same text you can already see — and sends it to our secure backend server to generate an AI analysis. This content is:

• Used only to generate the analysis for that specific request
• Not stored on our servers after the response is returned
• Not linked to any user identity
• Discarded immediately after processing

3. Payment processing (Pro subscriptions)

Pro subscriptions are purchased through Stripe, our payment processor. When you complete checkout:

• Stripe securely handles your payment details — we never see or store your card information
• We receive your email address from Stripe to generate and email you a licence key
• Your licence key and Pro status are stored locally in your browser, and verified against our backend when needed

Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

4. Third-party services

The AI analysis is powered by Anthropic Claude. Product page content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle API requests. We do not share any additional user data with Anthropic beyond the product page text.

5. Data storage

No product analysis data is stored on our servers. The extension stores the following locally in your browser only — this never leaves your device unless you contact us for support:

• Your most recent analysis result (for faster loading)
• Your daily usage count and shopping preferences
• Your Pro subscription status and licence key

6. Permissions explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab / scripting: Required to read the product page text so the AI can analyse it. We only read the page you are currently viewing, and only when the extension popup is open.
• storage: Used to store your usage count, Pro status, licence key, and cached analysis locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server beyond what's described above.
• tabs: Used to detect which website you are on so we can show the correct analysis.
• alarms: Used to periodically check watched products, only after you explicitly star an item.
• notifications: Used to alert you about watched products, only if you've added items to your watchlist.

7. This website (as distinct from the extension)

The sections above describe the extension, which sets no cookies and uses no tracking identifiers. This website is different, and we want the distinction to be explicit rather than buried:

• We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and where visitors come from.
• We use Google Ads conversion tracking to see which advertisements lead to an install or a purchase. This sets a first-party cookie on this domain when you arrive from one of our ads.
• These measure activity on this website only. They are not present in the extension and they do not follow you to the retail sites you shop on.
• We do not use this data for advertising profiles built on sensitive categories, and we do not sell it.

You can block this entirely with any standard content blocker, or by using your browser's Do Not Track / privacy settings — the site works exactly the same either way. Google's handling of the data it receives is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. In practice the only personal data we hold is the email address Stripe gives us when you buy Pro. Email us and we will action the request within 30 days. Deleting your email address deactivates the associated licence key.

9. Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
